A frame for my little lady...

This is an iPod box I´ve been saving for 5 years now... the first day I saw it I knew I was going to turn it into a frame to put a picture of my little lady.
Here you can see the almost beginning of it all, I realized I didn´t took a picture of it to show you the before stage, so I took a picture of it´s back before gluing both part together.
I used Sleep ladybug and Butterfly from 2 Cute Rubber Stamps that I printed out on paper with some tooth on it so I could have some texture on the coloring with my colored pencils. Aren´t they cute??!! I added black glitter on the mama and baby ladybug´s spots and some glitter nail polish on the butterfly wings to give them sparkle.
With edge scissors I cut a piece a bit larger than the opening where the picture will be placed to stand it out and distressed the edges with chalks. I took a piece of green fabric and ruffled it to use it as grass (hope it looks like grass!) and finished the front part of the box with yellow paper string tied in a bow.
I decorated also the back of the box following the decoration of the front using the same edge scissors and distressing the borders. I printed the sentiment (from Kathie Winters) on a scrap of patterned paper (from Ginger) and added a dollar store flower decorated with a button a piece of the same yellow paper string. To attach both front and back together I used another flower, button and paper string and glued it to the top (as you can see on the picture below).
I love to recycle, it gives me a great feeling after I finish something... and besides you have half of the work done! Now I need to decide which picture of my little lady I´m going to frame!

My project fits the following challenges:
Digital Tuesdays challenge #82: include a non-craft item
My grafico challenge #72: add some sparkle
Meljen challenge #31: use 2 digis
Totally papercrafts challenge #40: bling it on
Creative inspiration challenge #46: glitter, glamour, girlie
Stamp, scrap and doodle: buttons

Got candy??

Thursday my friends! that means it´s time to inspire you at Glitterbabe´s Challenge! This week I made a very simple card.
I took a piece of yellow-mustard-like cardstock that I folded into a card. Since I don´t have any embossing machine and I wanted so very badly emboss the front I did it myself, I just draw some lines perpendicular to each other on the third bottom part of the card. I distressed the edges of the card with chalks.
The images are Sitting scarecrow from Glitterbabe, and the candy corn tree and sentiment are from Elisa. I colored the images with colored pencils and added glitter to the moon (turned into a sun by me) and on the cutie scarecrow. The scarecrow is placed with foam tape on the card.
To finish it all I used a small black clothespin that I decorated it with a candy corn sticker to hold the image and placed them with foam tape too.
This is a front view for you to see how neat I made the embossed lines! I´m so proud of myself!!!

My card fits the following challenges:
Paper play Challenge #43: a haunting will go

In my mail box

Look what I found in my mail box when I got back from home today!!!!
aren´t them beautiful???!!!
Brandi, so sweet of her, sent me this present and card as a celebration of her first 25 followers, whoo hoo Brandi!!! pay her a visit if you have time, she puts her heart in her creations, it really shows!
The card is very creative and I want to highlight a detail. From what I can see she used a real leaf and glued tissue paper on top of it and colored it afterwards, it gives a gorgeous texture, looks like embossed and you can see a hint of the real color of the leaf underneath.
The little note pad is cute, cute, cute! She stamped the cardstock with a background stamp in yellow, such a subtle effect I love! she used a coordinating ribbon on the borders and a larger piece in the center where you can tie it with a knot to close it, very clever idea. I love the flower she made to embellish it, she kept the same color combination and added a bit of shine on its center, perfect touch!
Beautiful gift, Brandi! thanks you so much for you kindness and the time you spent making something for me, from the bottom of my heart. I love it! you´ll never know how happy you made me today. Keep creating and having fun! HUGS!!!

{DAD}

What a crazy week I had... actually I should had posted this one on Friday but suddenly we are on Sunday!
This is my inspirational creation for 2 Cute Rubber Stamps, it´s an envelope I decorated using this cute owl named Best of friends owl (and you can find it here!).
I colored the cutie with colored pencils and blended them with gamsol, cut carefully around it and placed it on the envelope with foam tape.
The layout is very simple: I cut a piece of patterned paper and rounded its corner, faux stitched it with a fine marker, added a scrap of paper I distressed with chalks and put two buttons tied with raffia.
To finish the envelope I cut a cloud (you can find it here) that I glittered and glued three pieces of red embroidery floss with different lengths on the back from one end. On the other end of the floss I glued three punched hearts where I spelled DAD with white gel pen, and to make it all shiny I painted the tiny hearts with decoupage glue.
I have a bunch of these envelopes and I love to decorate them, they can be used for so many things (letter, money, cards, small gifts, gift card... etc...) and they are available in several colors and sizes too!
Also I wanted to remind you we have a challenge running at 2 Cute until October the 31st, there is a cute free image to play with! hope you can join us, there is a great prize too!

My creation fits the following challenges:
Little red wagon Challenge #51: hearts

Sundays with Crissy Challenge#10: buttons and bows
One stitch at a time Challenge #36: all celebrations

Trick or treat!

I love all the excitement kids get around this time of the year, knocking neighbour doors to get their treats... or tricks! my daughter has already her costume, this year she´ll be the winter queen!
Today at Glitterbabe´s Challenge we are challenging you to frame your creation, we are also being sponsored by JLJ Designs, such cute images! we were able to work with some of them, I chose this too cute Trick or treat image that I used to make a door hanger,
I cut a square of cardboard that I covered first with a piece of yellow cardstock and then glued tissue patterned paper with those great swirls, so it gets a bit translucent to the yellow. I colored the image with crayons and blended them with mineral oil, cut them all apart and placed them on the hanger with foam tape and embellished some parts with glitter. Sorry about the picture, it was too sunny and you can not see well the colors, they are lot more vibrant...
With pop tabs, painted with purple acrylic paint and glittered afterwards, I threaded a shear ribbon and tied a knot on a corner after gluing them with the hot gun.
The cute cat is a Halloween sticker that I also added with foam tape, and finished the hanger with fibers to decorate the border (and hide the cardboard) and to make the handle where to hang it.
Hope you can join us in the fun this week too!

A thank you fairy

I have to send a thank you card, I thought this fairy would make a pretty one. And I´m so pleased with the result, hope the person I´m sending it likes it too!
The image is from Karen Kindrich, a beautiful fairy I colored with colored pencils, matted it with a piece of cardstock from my stash and placed it on the card with foam tape.
The ribbon is from a strip of fabric that I pulled two threads from the center and it ruffled very nicely, I attached it with double sided tape.
I made a patterned paper out of one flower that I colored it digitally in orange to match the flowers on the main image (the bottom patterned paper is a scrap of tissue patterned paper). I stitched glass seed beads all around the paper with white embroidery floss (since I don´t have that shade of orange... something I have to fix immediately!). I took a scrap of embossed vellum paper, wrote the sentiment and added a few stitches with green floss (from the fabric I used on the ribbon).
And because it´s too pretty it deserves a front view too!

Celebrate cupcake

Friday again!!! whoo hoo!!! tomorrow I plan to spend my whole day crafting, I´m so looking forward to it! But for today is my turn to inspire you, this time with another card I made for the daily inspiration that awaits you every day at 2 Cute Rubber Stamps.
There is a freebie and a challenge awaiting for you there! please join us! you have until 31st of October to submit your creation and the possibility to win a rubber stamp!
Back to my card,
I colored the image (a freebie you can find here) with crayons and blended the colors with mineral oil. Look at the sparkling frosting, does it look great?!! I made it with white puff paint and glittered it before it dried, once it was completely set I puffed it and that´s the wonderful result, it look much much better in real life! the image is placed on the card with foam tape for dimension.
I keep this one simple too because wanted the 2 Cute cupcake to be the focus. This is the first time I´m using a doily on my cards, I colored it a bit with chalks and embellished it with green rhinestones. I stamped the sentiment on a scrap of paper and folded it on a flag like shape before attaching it to the card. I like this card, it´s simple, easy and looks beautiful, hope you like this one too!

I´m playing at:
Little red wagon Challenge #50: something old, something new (the oldie here is the cardstock, I had it for ages!!)
My grafico challenge #70: anything goes

it´s all in the accessories!

how true... right?! I made this card to inspire you at Glitterbabe´s Challenge #16: Halloween! Stop by please and see what the other glitterbugs made, you´ll love all the inspirational creations this week!!!
In my country we don´t celebrate Halloween... but I liked the experience while living in the US, so much candy though... my daughter used to collect a huge amount that lasted whole year long!
I´m using here Witchy woman from Glitterbabe, that I colored with oil pastels blended with mineral oil. I cut all the images separately and applied shimmer body dust to make them all sparkly, added touches of glitter and silver metallic paint. Hand stitched the patterned paper with fine black marker, placed the images with foam tape on the card and added a sticker bat on one corner.
I also made, to complete the set, a basket, the template is very simple: a box with a long strip to make the handle. I decorated it with the same patterned paper, some scraps of black cardstock cut with edge scissors, a sentiment (from DeeDee´s digis) and another hat of the same Witchy woman set (also colored with oil pastels and glittered with shimmer body dust).
How do you like this one? I had so much fun making them!

Tags!

Here are my first hybrid tags, and I´m very pleased with the result. A hug to myself! it´s hard for me not to color using my pencils, digital coloring is challenging for me and I´ll keep trying to make it better!
These images are part of the new releases you can find at Glitterbabe´s Art store, Stef made these cute images and I´m showing you what I made with them.
These are tags for Christmas presents since we are approaching at unusual speed the holidays. My idea was to make something that could be made in no time almost and could be mass produced if needed. I started by coloring the images digitally on PS and creating the tag with digital elements. Once they were ready I printed them out on cardstock, cut, place them on the tags and gave them the finishing touches with glitter and ribbon.
On the first one I´m using Country Tree (you can find it here), and the digital papers are from Summer Driggs. I layered the image with a scrap of the same red paper as the tag.
And on the second one, I used Santa Moon (you can find it here), the digital elements are from RebeccaB and I also layered the image with a scrap of pink paper. In this one I used white puff paint on Santa´s hat, hair and beard (that I puffed once it dried and glittered afterwards).
Here is the back of both tags, digitally created too. Hope you like them as much as I did making them!

Free digi and Challenge at 2 Cute Rubber Stamps!

2 Cute Rubber Stamps is hosting a challenge!!!!
Heidi made this gorgeous image to use it on your project for free. You can grab the image here and participate on the 2 Cute Rubber Stamp DT blog to win a free rubber stamp! how cool is that?!
This is the inspirational creation I made for you.
I printed the image directly on the card, that was something I wanted to give it a try and this one was the perfect excuse! And also printed it on a scrap of patterned paper that I paper pieced the bottom and glued it to the card. I hand wrote the sentiment on a strip of white paper, cut it in a flag like shape, curled it a bit and attached it to the card with a button from my stash (knotted with a piece of red embroidery floss).
I colored the three cute pumpkins with colored pencils and added green rhinestones to gave them a bit of sparkling.
On the opposite corner of the sentiment I embellished the card with three felt leaves, a clear button that I glued a scrap of green paper on the bottom and tied it with embroidery floss also.
You´ll have until October 31st to upload your creation and a winner will be randomly chosen! lets get creative and good luck to all!

I´m playing with this card at the following challenges:

Tea time

Fairies in a jar having tea. They are so cute! love their faces...
I had lot of fun making this one and I wanted to show them to you. The jar I´m using here is a orange marmalade jar I saved for this purpose: to make another fairies in a jar.
I used an image I found on a free vintage images web site (don´t remember where...) that I printed it out on cardstock and embellished with rhinestones, glitter, metallic fabric paint and colored some parts with colored pencils. I added butterfly wings to turn the little girls into fairies.
On the inside you see how I standed the fairies and the bottle cup I turned into a clock. It´s also a free image found somewhere... I colored it with colored pencils, glued it to the inside of the cup, glittered its border and poured nail polish (the one with glitter in it) to give protection and glossy-glittery finish.
The lid is painted first with white acrylic paint, once it dried I painted again with pink acrylic paint not covering completely the white base. I cut some words from a magazine, glued them to the lid, added another clock image and glittered the border too.
I decorated with metallic paint the back of the jar, to hide the back of the paper (it´s a piece of patterned paper I painted with white paint very diluted). To finish the whole craft I added some fibers on the inside around the fairies.

I´s been a while since I shared a recipe, so here I´m sharing a wonderful dessert: Ricotta cheese cake
Ingredients:  3 eggs, 4 tbsp white sugar, 500 gr ricotta cheese (1 pound), 100 cc milk (1/2cup), 100 cc heavy cream (1/2cup), 1 tbsp baking powder, 2 tbsp corn starch, peel of 1 lemon.
Preparation: preheat the oven at 180°C (350F), butter and flour a cake pan of about 9in diameter. Beat the eggs with the sugar until is completely foamy and reserve. In another bowl mix all the ingredients and incorporate with slow motions the eggs mixture. Pour the batter into the pan and cook it 30-40 min until is golden brown on the top. Take out of the oven and let it cool before serving. I sprinkled it with powdered sugar and served it with chocolate syrup just because I didn´t have any berry syrup. You can have it with whipped cream too. Hope you try this one, you´ll love it!

Get well

I made my first get well card. Don´t have a clue why I din´t make one before, but it´s never late to start!
The cute giraffe is from Melissa Liban, she is an child book illustrator and does cute drawings, love her unique style! and she is giving some of her images for free too! thanks so much Melissa!! I colored the giraffe with colored pencils, applied some crystal glitter glue on its spots to let it sparkle a bit, cut and placed it with foam tape for dimension.
The sketch I´m using here is from Clean & Simple sketch #110, the patterned paper is a digital one from Jaime that I cut with edge scissors and embellished with glitter glue also. I stamped the sentiment on a scrap of paper, cut it, place it on the card and doodled a line with a fine black marker. To finish it I added a tiny heart sticker.
So simple, quick and fun card! hope you like it!!

Baby cards!

Friday again! my turn to inspire you at 2 Cute Rubber Stamps. I saw this image and fell in love with it... look at that cute face!!!
I made a boy and a girl version of the same card. As you can see I used the same patterned paper on both of them, stitched glass seed beads with embroidery floss, added buttons with coordinating colors, and a piece of light blue and white fiber paper from my stash.
Do you by chance stopped by Canon Creative Park once? if you didn´t you should, there is plenty of free digital stuff to use on your cards as well as on your scrap pages, I found the patterned paper there.
I colored the Baby Pumpkin Apple images with colored pencils, cut and placed them on the cards with foam tape. To finish it I stamped the sentiment (clear stamp).
The sketch is very simple, I wanted to use a simple one in case you have to make several of the same card, you can substitute the stitching with a layer of paper or glitter glue to save time.

These two cards fit the following challenges:
Catch the bug: anything goes
Stamp, scrap and doodle: open challenge
Sundays with Crissy Challenge #10: buttons and bows
Digital Tuesdays Challenge #79: ribbon, button or bling
