Today I have something special to share with you: I was given one of
Glitterbabe´s soon-to-be-released images to work with, I made a gift bag (a couple of them actually) to go along with a card for Valentine´s day. It´s my first time showcasing an image and I hope I made it right.
So because this is a multiple craft post using the same image I´ll start with it:
How cute is that face??!!! I printed it three times and colored with colored pencils, glittered the heart with pink fine glitter and cut carefully around.
Then I took some old paper from my stash (but still pretty...) and cut it with a rectangular shape, and used (the one and only) rubber stamp with a Valentine´s sentiment I own to stamp the sentiment on them. I colored the tiny heart with glitter gel pen and faux stitched around with a fine black marker. I attached the image on one corner and save them for later.
Now the card:
If you read my blog from time to time, you know I like to recycle, looks like I can not put myself into throwing away paper or cardstock or cardboard... So, to make the card base and bag toppers I used a hanging file folder (a very proud me rescued them from the paper bin at work) like this one
On to my card again:
I decorated the front with some patterned paper and a ruffled ribbon made with red crepé paper. I attached the image-sentiment with foam tape and added more faux stitches with black marker.
on the inside there were the lines made to write notes on the hanging file folder, so I found them very convenient and worked my card around them: added two scraps of the pattered paper (cut one of the edges with edge scissors) and faux stitched them. Then, with two clear stamps I stamped several times the blank part on your left, and with other two the words
love and
forever on the right side; I finished it all with a U letter from a paper with Scrabble letters that I placed with foam tape for dimension.
The bags toppers were made following the same design as the card. I made two because one will be for my daughter and the other for my sweetheart, filled them with my favorite caramel candy. And if you are wondering my daughter will get the card too ( because my sweetheart will get a different one ♥).
What do you think of this project? it took me no time at all to put it all together, even though it has many parts... the most time consuming was the ruffled strip of crepé paper, but you can substitute it with already ruffled ribbon or lace, or just use a punch border or edge scissor...
I found a few challenges where I can fit my project:
Paper Sundaes challenge #47: gift it!
Fussy and fancy challenge #25: anything but a card
Frosted designs: glitter
Catch the bug: anything goes
