Graduation card and paper flowers!

Hello crafty friends! I made my first graduation card to a friend who got his PhD last week. I struggled a little bit with it since I didn´t know what to do (and how): first it had to be a male card (hard...), second it has to be an adult greeting card to someone getting the highest level of formal education (hard too...), and third I wanted it to be not formal but on the funny side...
The easiest part was to printing it! it reads in Spanish: Congratulations! the world is yours
I used one of the fabulous images from The Graphics Fairy, then I give a bit of color with 4 of the 8 Copic markers I own: BG15, G000, E00 and C-3, not an easy task either since I don´t know how to use them yet... but they gave the card a graphic look that I was hoping I could achieve ☺

And I also wanted to show you some paper flowers I made with cupcake liners, those you buy at the dollar store? yep, those... you fold them at its middle twice to have a quarter of a circle and then glue them in two layers on a cardstock punched circle (i.e. you´ll need 8 folded liners to make a flower), glued a crystal stone (also from the dollar store) on the center and ruffled the petals a bit to give them dimension, very easy! and fun to make, now I need to use them!

I´m showing my card at:

Thank you for stopping by! have a great day!

It's been forever since I've visited you here! I see that you are still keeping busy with tons of beautiful projects. I love what you've been doing with The Graphics Fairy images. I could spend hours on her blog just like I do with yours.

I've been staying away from Copics because of the cost, but I love what you did here. What a great idea to add just a touch of color to this image. It really makes it pop. I may have to buy a few just for this reason when they're on sale.

I love the tags on your former post, too. I also have way too many embossing folders that aren't being used much right now. I've been doing Tiffany Spaulding's Get Organized Challenge (owner of The Scrap Rack) online, so hopefully once I get myself better situated I will remember to use this stuff more often. Her methods make lots of sense. Unfortunately I just had surgery a couple weeks ago to have my pain pump replaced, so I haven't been able to institute the last two weeks projects right now. I'm itching to get going on the rest of my stuff (or maybe it's the incision healing that's itching!).

My youngest daughter will be having another boy next month. Her pregnancy was much easier this time even though they had to do a cerclage (stitch her cervix together) because of all of the problems last time. I just had her baby shower last week, so I'll have to post some of the fun stuff I made for the shower.

I always get so much inspiration from you when I visit your blog. Your work is always gorgeous! I've even been doing lots of beading projects with my grandkids thanks to you. Have a great day! Lee
