More hangers!

I just love to make them! so every time I´m not into a card mood I just make one of these hanger and I feel completely happy afterwards ☺

This time I made two of them: they are made altering an old CD. I like to alter them because I don´t have to think of the shape, they are already a perfect circle! and they have plenty of room for you to play.
The image is Winter Bear I got from Designed to delight for free because I participated last week on their challenge blog, it´s a progressive challenge where you get in your inbox a free image to play with for the next challenge if you played on the previous one, it´s an all win challenge! isn´t it great?!?! I love the idea!

I colored the bears with colored pencils and blended them with mineral oil: I used two color schemes green-purple and green-orange (click on them to enlarge). I added dots of white puff paint on the falling snow (puffed after it dried) and glitter on the sliding snow, cut in a circle and they were ready to place with foam tape on the center of the front part. The front papers are cut from an old music book and painted with white acrylic paint because they were (too) yellow... then I glued some sequins with coordinating colors in a circle around the image.

On the back I used a napkin as patterned paper glued to a piece of cardstock. The sentiments are from TlcCreations cut in a circular shape too and placed on the centers with foam tape also.

I painted dots of white puff paint around the sentiments and glittered them before it dried (tap the excess and let it dry before puffing it), so you end up with a glittery puffy border...

And finally to hang then I used a piece of fishing line I decorated starting with a sequin snowflake and a few glass seed beads with coordinating colors, I finished it with a loop and another snowflake. When I finished them I found them kind of plain on the borders so I glued a piece of white fiber around, it was a good idea because I could hide the CD edge at the same time.

happy birthday to me!!!

Yep! it´s my birthday today, and NOPE I´m not telling how old I´m now!
It´s very easy for me to think of presents for everybody but I had always a hard time to find something for me, so I made myself this envelope where I put some money as a self-gift and I told to myself to spend it without regrets!

This cute image is Ratiny in a cupcake from Softpencil, Elizabeth has such beautiful images at her shop, you should go and see for yourself, they are completely cute! I started by decorating the envelope using some old patterned papers from my stash that I faux stitched around them with fine markers. Took a brown ribbon and I tied it with a bow, a scrap of the same ribbon and a button are the decoration of the closing.

I printed the image twice, I colored one of them with colored pencils, from the other I cut the frosting of the cupcake that I glittered with my new white crystal glitter (I´m loving this stuff!!!) and placed it with foam tape for dimension on the colored one, do you see the frosty effect? it´s so beautiful in real life! I decorated the cupcake with a flower and a button (from my stash also) and some heart stickers. I placed the image with foam tape on the envelope, hand wrote the sentiment with fine markers and voilá! very easy and finished in no time.

Dream in pink

Did you see how trendy is to use fabric on your crafts? I wanted to give it a try too and I glued shinny pink fabric (a scrap from a Halloween costume I made for my daughter a few years ago) to a piece of paper, once it was dry I used it like patterned paper. The fabric is great! looks like a hologram, changes colors, it´s so beautiful to the eye, so bad I can not put that onto a picture to show you...

I used Dream dragonfly from Michelle Perkett , I colored the image with colored pencils and added a rhinestone on the dragonfly´s head. Cut around the image and placed it on the card with foam tape.

A piece of lace, stitched pink glass seed beads and a scrap of pink paper finish the card. A simple card, I love how the colors go together and how the fabric shines!

It deserves a front view too!
I was cleaning up my craft room this morning and I found (again) some old papers that I still like and I wanted to used them today... and hopefully tomorrow! so you´ll be seen them very ofter from now. I still think they are pretty papers, very out of fashion but pretty. Ribbon and lace are from my stash.

I colored the image with colored pencils and blended them with mineral oil, cut it and added dots of pearled paint before placing it to the card with foam tape.

The sentiment is a very old clear dollar stamp I stamped twice (straight and upside down) on a scrap of paper, cut around it and matted it with a scrap of the cardstock used for the card base. I painted two dots of pearl paint before attaching it to the front of the card with foam tape.

A thank you card

Yesterday late afternoon (on my time zone) Paulette from TlcCreations set a 24 hours challenge, and she offered a beautiful image we needed only to color to participate.
I printed it out right away and I thought leaving it to color the following morning, but it was so beautiful that I couldn´t help myself and I finished it yesterday night. Today I made a card with it

this is my first time making a vintage looking card, or as vintage as I could get up to know! and I love the result! really...
These are the image before and after

I colored it with colored pencils, cut in a round shape and layered it with a piece of the base cardstock, distressed the edges and added dots of glitter glue.
I used a digi paper leftover (I used it before here, and I still can´t remember who made it...) that I distressed with ink, a ruffled lace I had for at least 4 years (!!??!!) and a ribbon I bought this morning specially for this card because I didn´t have any to match.

The sentiment on the front is from Sueli Colbert Designs and I printed it out directly on the card

and I added two dots of glitter glue paint.
I made the inside too!

because Paulette has also a wonderful sentiment that goes perfect with this image.
