Michelle Perkett is running a first inspirational challenge at CDAC, she asked the DT to make something to inspire you. The challenge theme is Birthday Whimsey! She has created a cute cupcake image especially for this challenge! And this is the inspirational image
isn´t this a lovely cake?! you can see all DT creations at Michelle Perkett group.
By letting myself being inspired by the image I made three little projects in less than an hour each, and I wanted to share them with you today:
First, a cute triangle box
I used a template found here, so easy! and the result is great! the DP you see is actually a piece of cardstock where I "glued" a paper napkin.
You can find this great tutorial how to use those gorgeous paper napkins to make patterned papers here, try it, you´ll love the technique!
I colored the image with colored pencils and added a bit of glitter glue to the centers of the flowers before cutting it and attaching it to the front of the box with foam tape. I cut the sentiment in a flag-like shape, curled a bit and glued behind the cupcake. Added a piece of ribbon from my stash and... voilá! you end up with a nice little box.
Second, an acetate bookmark
very easy too. I had a left over piece of acetate that I folded in the middle and I decorated it with a scraps of patterned paper: on the front I used green and on the back I used pink
I colored the image with colored pencils and added dots of pearl paint on the centers of the flowers and on the corners of the patterned paper.
I glued a magnet strip I cut in two on the inside so it can´t slip off the page, put the image on foam tape and cut around the words of the sentiment before attaching them to the bookmark. I decorated the back so there is a place where to write a sentiment.
And third, a very simple and quick card
I started coloring the image with PS and then made a patterned paper out of that image. I printed the patterned paper and the sentiment on cardstock, cut it, layered them with pink and orange cardstock, glued the image to the front of the card and then I pierced it around. Folded a ribbon (from my stash) in that cute way I found how here and attached the sentiment with foam tape. I used Clean and Simple sketch #96 to make this card.
Join us in the fun! we want to see what you create with this gorgeous image!
I´m submitting my three project to participate also at Party Time Tuesdays challenge #5.
