All Clean & Simple

Hello blogland friends! I made a few cards with a C&S look and I wanted to share them with you (and play at some challenges too!). Here are two of them:

this first one is very simple indeed! I bought a set of clear stamps a while ago and it´s my first card using them (actually one of them). I stamped the image several times with purple ink and a sentiment with black ink, then I stitched clear glass seed beads to frame the stamped area. I made this one because a friend (Paloma) asked me to make a card for a girlfriend of hers, and I thought it could be a nice present not only the card but a card with a pin she could wear. The pin is made out of scraps of fabric, dollar store flowers, pop tabs and glass piece from a chadelier that I brought at the flea market. It looked so pretty!
With this one I´m playing at:

The second one is a digital card I made for my dear boyfriend Luis, I sent it to him by e-mail and he placed it as wallpaper on his computer ☺ it looks like he liked it! the images are from The Graphics Fairy, I "stamped" a tiny heart and the sentiment, it reads in Spanish PS: I love you.

Showcasing Glitterbabe: second part

I have a couple more cards to show you where I used Stef´s (Glitterbabe) images ☺

A shower of LOVE
I kept this one very simple too! I started by printing the image directly on the card base along with the sentiment (made with PS). Punched the bottom border and added a scrap pink strip of paper behind. I colored the image with colored pencils, added a bit of glossy dimensional to the umbrella´s handle, glittered its top with white fairy dust glitter, glued some sequins and applied dots of pink pearled paint. It looks a lot better in real life!

And this one is another simple card (very easy and fast to make). Looks like I´m liking the CAS look a lot lately... I printed the drum four times directly on the card base and colored (with colored pencils) one of them to spotlight it. Added a few details like tiny red rhinestones, glitter, border punch and a piece of red sheer ribbon.

Thank you for stopping by and have a nice day!

Showcasing Glitterbabe

Hello my blogger friends, I´m not dead!! I´m just to busy at the time. I want to thank you for all your beautiful comments and a special thank you to those who still follow me even though I hadn´t updated my blog since October... OMG!!! where did the time go???!!!!

To slowly update my beloved blog I want to show you a few cards I made using Stef´s images. Sadly Stef has closed her store but maybe in the future we´ll see available again her beautiful images.

you color my life
When Stef (glitterbabe) sent me this image (Bottle) the idea to make a rainbow just popped up into my head. I made a bookmark by "stamping" the image several times with PS, then I added a text and printed it directly on a scrap of paper. I colored the images with colored pencils and added glossy accent to give them a glass kind of look. I finished it with some black foam stickers and a couple of buttons from my stash. Pretty simple and clean but I like the result a lot.

This is a simple tag I made using scraps of everything, I printed the image  in a piece of pearled white paper and colored the gift boxes with colored pencils adding some touches of glitter gel pen on the leaves and red fruits. I punched the bottom border of the tag and stitched green glass seed beads around the patterned paper. I finished it by placing the image with foam tape and a scrap of ribbon.

Beautiful you!
I love this image!!! I started by paper piecing the image (printed on a scrap of patterned paper) and colored it (and shaded it) with colored pencils. I printed the sentiment on a scrap of paper and cut around each word to place them separately (YOU has foam tape). Then I took a piece of tissue paper and pleatted it before gluing it to the left side of the card, I added faux stitches with white gel pen and a strip of embossed white paper. To finish the card I embellished it with a flower made out of layering a dollar store flower, a crochetted flower (made by me ☺) and a few sequins.

Thank you for stopping by and not forgetting me, have a nice day!

{BOO} to you!

Hello my dear blogger friends, it´s been a while since my last post but I catched a huge bug this week and I´m way behind my posts. You´ll see them during the comming days ☺
I´m starting with this hanger I made to inspire you at the Outlawz Twisted Thursday challenge, this week we have a wonderful sketch for you and we are asking also to have a Halloween theme in your creation. Hope you can join us in the fun!
This a recycled and decorated old CD, the first picture is the front of the hanger and the second one is the back of it. As you can see I used the cut out of the frame in the front to decorate the back (patterned paper from my stash), I couldn´t throw it away! so I had to use it.
I started by coloring the image, the cute witch is from Michelle Perkett, another beautiful image! I colored it with colored pencils and blended them with gamsol. Then I cut a pice of a children construction paper to cover the front and back of the CD, I love this one because is splattered with glitter! I cut the frame with my cricut machine and glued it to the center as best as I could, I stitched large glass seed beads on the inside of the frame and drawn faux stitches with white gel pen on its outside. I placed the image by adding dots of strong instant glue on some beads to hold it in place. The cute bat and the corn candy are halloween stickers that I placed first on scraps of paper and cut carefully around, the bat is placed with foam tape as is one of the corn candy. You can see its 3D effect here
then I spelled BOO with foam stickers that I also faux stitched with white gel pen. Bellow it I hand wrote the sentiment. On the back I keep it simple: I faux stitched the cut out as I did on the front and added a sentiment, used another sticker (the cute ghost) and placed it with foam tape. To finish the hanger I glued directly on the CD a stripe of tissue pink paper ruffling it a bit while I was placing it before gluing the decorated cardstock. A piece of fishing line finishes it and there you have it ready to be hung!
Thank you for stopping by!

Thank you {FRIEND}

Hello my dear blogger fiends! we are having a HUGE party at The Outlawz this week!!! lots of prizes and plenty of fun and inspiration for everyone. You don´t want to miss it!!
Here I´m showing my inspirational creation for our group Twisted Thursday at The Outlawz, we want you to use: red, yellow and green on your creation. And these are what I made! two tiny cards that turned out better than I thought ☺
Can you find the differences??? there are not so many....and this is how I made them: I took scarps of my so loved hanging paper folder and cut them with my cricut, I layered them on a very (very) old paper from my stash that happened to have those gorgeous warm fall colors. Then I took a scrap of an embossed vellum paper and punch it with that pretty lace border punch (from MS) and I stamped "FRIENDS" with brown ink on another scrap of paper, glued them together on the front of the cards and added a few details to it: a couple of buttons (from my stash too), faux stitching with white gel pen and a tiny tag (also cut with my cricut). I saw the card too plain at this stage, so I took one of those (also beloved) expresso crushed cups and glittered them with chunk glitter, I ruffled a piece of fabric and placed it behing the cup. I wanted also to add an image, so I colored that cute pumpkin (from Tiddly Inks) with colored pencils and placed it with foam tape on the cup for dimension. My green was missing!!! well, not quite, but a tiny leaf was not enough green, so I glittered two pins ($ store ones) to finish the embellishments of the cards. Lots of tiny details that kept me entretained one afternoon. Hope you like them and play with us.
Thank you for stopping today!

Angel in a jar

I love to make little things for my daughter, and I love to recycle things, so I put the two of them together and I made this cute angel in a jar.

The idea is very simple: you start with an empty marmalade jar, then pick an image you like to put inside and embellish your jar as much as you want!
I used a Michelle Perkett image that I colored with colored pencils and added some details to it: pearl paint on the stars and moons on her dress, glitter on her wings and cuffs, and a few white feathers on her wings too. I glued the angel inside the jar and fill it with some iridescent plastic shredded paper as clouds.
Then I painted the lid with gesso, and after it was dry I glued with mod podge a sentiment made with single words cut out from a magazine. I finished the lid glittering all its border.
And to finish this craft I painted tiny dots of glow in the dark paint on the otside of the jar, my idea was for them to look like tiny stars during the night, they can not be seen very well on the picture...
This is my inpirational creation for you this week at The Outlawz Twisted Thursday group, we have a very easy challenge for you: anything goes! hope you can join usin the fun

Fabulous {you}

My third post in a row! it feels good to make a little something every day... woo hoo!
I made a digital scrapbook page this time using (again) a picture of my daughter. This summer we spent the most wonderful time together and maybe it´s time to start scrapping some of the pictures I took of her. Here she is smelling roses at a gorgeous rose garden in the Parque del Retiro (in Madrid).
The layout is a sketch from The Outlawz Paper a la Mode challenge this week. I used two PS brushes to "stamp" the images on the background paper (from Rebecca_PSP Designs), the scrabble tile sentiment was a freebie from Katie Pertiet, the retro slide overlay framing the picture is from The Scrapping cop. And that´s it: very simple but fun to make.

Just for you

 solo para ti
I finished this envelope today and I wanted to share it with you. Loving the result! I printed directly on the paper envelope, a very fun technique...
I started by opening a PS file of the size of the envelope, I stamped a scroll (a PS brush) in gray and added some touches of a distressing brush and the sentiment on the bottom, when I was happy with the design I printed it out. Then I colored the roses and leaves with colored pencils and added stickles to some of the flurishes.
I took this beautiful bird image (from The Graphics Fairy) and printed it two of them, one the mirror image of the other, cut ehtm out and placed them with foam tape.
I cut with edge scissors the clousure of the envelope and made a flower with scraps of ribbon, glued it in place and voilà! you have a nice, easy, and fast decorated envelope.

Love - Live - Hope

What could become of us without them?
Hello dear blogger friends, here I´m showing you an inspiration creation I made for myself and the Twisted Thursday challenge at The Outlawz this week. We want you to add stitches on your creation. Beware! it´s a long post ☺
After a sudden and unexpected turn of my life I was left compeltely desoriented with a deep sadness and pain. I know compared with other people life mine is not bad at all and I shouldn´t complain, but you all know that while measuring our personal problems we loose objectivity, and I saw my life destroyed at my feet.
A few days later I knew I had to get my life back again and heal my wounds, friends for all over the world and family poured me with the most wonderful encouraging words and love, all and each of them helped me to keep going, to lift my face to the sun and walk, and creating is being part of finding my usual self again. It was hard at the beginning because I could not create a single thing, anything at all! and that stressed me too, so I started reading again, going thru old magazines and (even older) card making books and I found an article where the artist made small scrapbooking pages to remind her some of her inner thoughts (she made them to cope with some hard time in her life too), and that inspired me to create these three pages. Actually they are not pages, they are wall hangers. I´m going to hang them in a place where I can see them everyday, to remind me what my inner me is convinced (sometimes I seem to forget!).
I used inspirational quotes I found on the internet ☺ So this is how I made them:

I started by recycling a hanging paper folder (remember those I saved from the recycling bin at work?) and some shopping maps that are freely distributed here in Madrid from time to time. I found them in a wonderful store I like to buy patterned paper and they were the only three left! lucky me... On the front of these maps there is always an image and this time it has these gorgeous kid faces, stern, serious and determined young faces, that´s what I feel everytime I look at them and decided to used them right away.
I cut them careflully and placed them on the base cardstock. I took a page of music sheet, cut it to match the image and colored the borders with ink pads.
Then I stitched the top and bottom borders with embroidery floss and some glass sead beads, here you can see my stitching process

Then I added some extra stitches and beads on the boy´s shoulder, it gives it a great look and texture!
The sentiment is by Zelda Fitgerald, printed it on patterned paper, singled out every word and placed them with foam tape. These words for me are strong and are meant to say the answer every time I read it.
I finished them by spelling the main word on every page with black foam stickers.
On the second one I glued some sequins (the green leaf is also a sequin!) on the girl´s neckline of her dress and some yellow rhinestones
and again I printed the sentiment and singled out each word before placing them with foam tape. The sentiment is a Cherokee Indian proverb. A wonderful one! and I need it to remind me not to waste my time going around in cicles, I have to learn from the past and keep living the life I have, the life I want for me.
And finaly on the third one I embellished it with a purple dollar store flower and some sequins and large glass sead beads
Once again, I printed the sentiment and placed it with foam tape. This one has not know author... but it reflects myself so well that´s why I chose it, I never give up, I never did and I hope never will.
And here all three together again, each of them are 6 x 6 in (click on them to enlarge)
Hope you like them as much as I do! and I hope they can inspire you to take care of yourselves too.

Dream...

Another Thursday! the perfect day to show you my inspirational creation for this week challenge at The Outlawz Twisted Thursday. This time we are challenging you to create something using your favorite technique.
At this time my favorite technique is embossing, I got my cuttlebug this summer from my dear friend Gaby and I can not stop playing with it... I´ve been reading tutorials and watching videos so I can make the best of the machine and I´m loving it!! (but it´s a lot healthier than eating you-know-what ☺). I simply embossed the front of the card and then sanded it a bit, it helped to pop the gorgeous design of the embossing plate. Then I decided it needed to sparkle so I glued some iridescent sequins and seed beads. I finished the card by stamping the sentiment on a scrap of vellum paper and placing a dragonfly (a very old rub-on) with foam tape for dimension. And that´s it! very simple indeed... but it looks very nice in real life.

As I told you a few days ago, I also want to show you a few more pins I made by recycling those cute expresso cups I´m loving so much and embellished them with scraps of fabric a sweet and very talented lady gave me, thank you Vicenta!! they are gorgeous!

Thank you for looking!

A little note...

Today we started a new challenge at The Outlawz Twisted Thursday. This week we are challenging you to create something using puches or dies and this set of little cards are my inspirational creation for you.
I cut the mushrooms with my cricut machine and I used both the positive and negative image to make two cards out of one cut.
The cards are very simple (yes... I´m still on the CAS mood...) and I tried for them to be easy to make because I really wanted to make a set. This is my first one and it only has four cards but the number of them can be easily expanded, it took me no time at all to finish it!
Behind the images I placed clear tape and glittered over with a very thin glitter, it sparkles a little and it´s still transparent enough to see the patterned paper on the back. I placed the shrooms on the front of the cards with foam tape and finished them by stamping a sentiment in a corner and tying a piece of sheer ribbon. Hope you like them ☺
Thank you for stopping!

Hi chick!

Second post today, whoo hoo! this card is also made to inspire you at The Outlawz Twisted Thursdays challenge this week. And here I am again with another clean and simple one. This time I´m using a set of clear stamps from Artemio that I colored with colored pencils. I embellished my card with a button a piece of silk thread and a tag (where I stamped HI! and added a red rhinestone).
Here you have a closer look. I just love these set! all the images are so cute...
Thank you again for stopping, have a nice day!

A cupcake

Hello everyone, here I have a cupcake to celebrate! I don´t have a birthday to celebrate yet but I like to make birthday cards. This one is a very simple card, fun to make and I´m pleased on the result, so I have something to celebrate indeed... I like this card a lot!
This gorgeous image is from Michelle Perkett that I colored with colored pencils, embellished with 3 rhinestones (can you find them?), cut out and placed on the card with foam tape. I stamped the sentiment on the card and then I embossed it, to give a different look I just rounded the corners.
This week at The Outlawz Twisted Thursday challenge we are challenging you to use a recipe: 2 of the following colors red, yellow, brown orange; and three of the following embellishments brad, ribbon, eyelet, button, flower, pearls or rhinestone. On this card I used red and yellow to color and three rhinestones as embellishments. Hope you can join us in the fun this week too ☺
