Christmas tree tag (with tutorial)

Hello! today I wanted to show you how to make a 10 min tag from scratch! really, truly easy tag. Here we go:

First take a piece of patterned paper to make a tree, the idea is to make an isosceles triangle with only these elements: piece of paper, ruler, cutter and a pencil

from one corner cut a piece (no measuring!)

then do the same on the other side to have a sharp corner (do not measure!!)

Now you have tree pieces
ahora tenemos tres partes

It´s time to take the ruler and measure the shortest side (mine measures 2.5 in about 6.5 cm)

mark with a pencil on the opposite side the same measurement (2.5 in or 6.5 cm)
y pasamos esa misma medida al lado opuesto (6.5 cm)

take you cutter and cut from your mark to the bottom of the opposite side

and you end up with 4 pieces and your isosceles triangle in the middle

Then we make the tag: take a rectangle of white cardstock and cut two top corners

I decided to embellish it with a paper doily, glue it to the tag and cut the excess.
Stick a piece of washi tape on the bottom, and glue a tiny rectangle of paper to make the bark of the tree. Add also some foam tape to the back of the tree to give it some dimension.

Tie a piece of twine, place your tree and give the finishing touches with rhinestones and a star. Here you have it! easy, right? hope you can make it, and please share it ☺

Have a great day and thank you for stopping by!

Tarjeteria Solidaria - ♥ - {Cardmaking for a cause}

Good day everyone! today I want to talk about this wonderful project about using our love for crafts Sueli started a year ago. From a such a generous heart as Sueli´s the idea was starting to get shape and finally she made it real, she got help from other caring souls who sent craft material to work with, we started making cards and paper related crafts with one main goal: to help families that are having a difficult time.
You have a special place in my heart

Here I´m to show you some cards I made in collaboration with this project we call {Cardmaking for a cause} (Tarjeteria solidaria in Spanish). We are a group of people that gather on Fridays to make some cards and by selling them we are making profits to help those in need with food or simply paying some of their bills. I love to be part of this project! for now we are just a modest group but we are confident we´ll be able to "recruit" more supporting people.

If you are far away from Madrid to participate actively on this project, we have other means like buying our cards by contacting Sueli. We need more people who likes to support causes as this one, so we´ll be making it easy for you. We have a facebook group you can join and get the latest news.

Thank you so much for stopping by and have a great day!

Since the beginning of times...

It all started the 26th of January 2010... I remember that year was very cold, it even snowed here!

it was a really huge jump from my comfort zone, but I did it! that oh-so-scary day I started this, my beloved blog; and that day it also started this wonderful journey about meeting amazing people, about being challenged and inspired by talented people all around the world.

I remember my first post (you can read it here), I was so nervous! and I didn´t know where to start, so I started with something I was confident enough not to make a shame of myself (so silly of me!), it was a wonderful and very yummy recipe Heidi concocted. I still make it, you should try it if you didn´t already.
After the first one, posting seemed not soy scary and I stated sharing with you my crafts. And all along these three years (3 years!!!) you were with me, helping me grow, helping me build my self-esteem, helping with my confidence, and allowed me to be myself. You were also with my ups and downs, with my most difficult moments.

Keeping this blog alive was (and still is!) very important to me, and for that I want to thank you all, for still stopping by when I don´t have much to show you. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!! you all make my day, everyday!
OMG! it was a looong time since my last post!! but I´m trying to make a weekly plan to start blogging again. I really miss all the fun of blogging and miss all my blogger friends. On a personal level I´m starting another scary road: I´m finishing my PhD; and now it has a real and a-so-near end. This feels as scary as my first blog post, but I know I can make it, and I will! you´ll see

Because I want to re-launch my blog, I´m planning to show you all crafts and cooking I´ve been making, sharing some tutorials (if times permit), talk about some beautiful people I met, and what my liking are lately. You can follow me on Instagram to see more of my daily life. And you are invited to be with me on this final and important path I have to cover. That means you´ll hearing me complain all the time about my thesis writing hahahahaha!
thank you in advance, all my best to all of you and see you soon!
