A tweet home

There is a great challenge waiting for you at Glitterbabe´s challenge this week, you don´t want to miss it! and here is my inspirational creation for you. The sketch I chose is one from Inkspiration Challenge blog (a past one, but I like it very much!), I embellished the front of my card with a leather flower that I tied with raffia, two brads and glitter glue. The papers are from Summer Driggs.
The image is Tweet Street from Nana Vic (please, do stop by her place, you´ll love everything she has!), I colored it with colored pencils, this image has a lot of beautiful details and I was a bit scared of not being able to show all its beauty, but I´m very pleased with the result!
On the inside is the sentiment that I computer generated with PS, I found it on a very (very) old craft book I bought years ago and I think it fits very well with the image. I matted it with patterned paper and a scrap of the same red cardstock and placed it with foam tape for dimension. The additional image is from Karen Kindrich that I colored with colored pencils too, glittered its border and glued it to the card. I added as embellishments a couple of resin pumpkins to be used as bulge for the open card and a string of raffia .
Here is a picture of the card in its easel form, it looks very pretty! hope you like it too!!

So kind

I decorated this paper lunch bag for a dear friend, I bought her a nice present and it deserved a nice decorated bag so here is what I made.
The cute cat is Thank you Kitty from 2 Cute Rubber Stamps that I colored with colored pencils and blended them with gamsol. I just love the happy cute face it has! I gave the flowers a bit of sparkle with glitter nail polish and added a rhinestone on their centers. The papers are from my stash and I cut the black cardstock with edge scissors. I added a silver ribbon and a safety pin decorated with pink glass seed beads. I finished the bag closure with a glittered flower in hot pink and a brad.

Merry and bright

I´m trying my best not to be too behind my Christmas cards, not an easy task! but here I have another one to share with you.
These two stamps Hanging ornaments and Holly leaf are from Glitterbabe (you can find them at Stef´s store here!), I colored them with oil pastel and blended them with mineral oil. After I finished coloring the ornaments I painted completely with my so loved glittered nail polish and added details with gold glitter glue. On the holly leaf I glittered the border and painted the fruits with glitter nail polish. I really like the effect of the nail polish, it doesn´t saturate the image with glitter. I placed the images with foam tape, I drawn the ornaments strings  and the sentiment with gold gel pen. The black cardstock is perfect when you want to highlight the images. The simple sketch is from Clean & Simple sketch #115, love it!

Digital scrapbooking

I could finish another scrapbook page! Keep your fingers crossed that I can keep making one a week. Here is my second one, it was lots of fun to make it and put together in no time. I´m using here another already made layout by Katie Pertiet, the gorgeously textured papers are from Shelly Marie (Picnic park kit). And the pictures are from my sweetheart and me at different places this year ☺
I wanted to play at Lasting memories layout Challenge blog this week and we are to use punches, but I sorted the problem it represents making my page digital by using a shape with PS to "punch" hearts from a coordinating paper and placing them on the layout.
And I want to thank Lasting Memories team for choosing me as top 3 last week, what a great and pleasant surprise!

Fall magnets

How fun was to color these little guys, I just love that image!! it´s Sitting scarecrow from Glitterbabe, I colored them with colored pencils and glittered after.
The challenge at Glitterbabe´s Challenge this week is to use red, orange and green, and these clothespins magnets is what I made to inspire you. I glued a piece of brown cardstock (from Summer Driggs) to the front of each (jumbo) clothespin. The other day I found, to my great surprise, at the supermarket some leaves with autumn colors that I couldn´t resist buying, and they were very handy, because I hot glued them along with a felt leaf on the top of my project. Then I placed the cute image with foam tape and finished it with a bit of moss. What do you think of them? they look beautiful on the fridge! hope you like them too and make your own.
Here is a picture of each of them, click to see them larger, can you find the differences? ☺

{JOY}

I love that word, since my mother language is not English sometimes it´s hard to translate it to give it the right meaning, the nearest description I can give is it makes me warm inside...
This one is a simple Christmas card, in fact my first one this year (I know... I´m really behind!) and I enjoyed every second I spent creating it.
The image is Holly leaf from Glitterbabe (you can fin it at Stef´s store here!) and I colored them with colored pencils, I added a bit of glossy dimension to the fruits with decoupage glue, the effect is great! but I´m not able to take a good picture of it... The circles and hollies are placed on the card with foam tape, and the letters of the sentiment are from a sticker sheet I had for sooo long.

Paper clips!

I wanted to make something that could be used as a small gift and I thought decorating a few jumbo paper clips could achieve my purposes. They are very easy to make, you can do a lot of them in a few hours so they are perfect as party favors. I know my daughter and her friend will love them! The images I used are from 2 Cute Rubber Stamps colored with colored pencils and glittered after.
I took some dollar store fabric flower that I glued it to the jumbo paper clip with the hot gun, added a circle from scraps of patterned paper (cut with a round punch) and distressed a bit the borders before gluing it to the flower.
On the first ones I used Bumble Bee Cuttie.
And on the second ones I used Bunny. (Click on the image to enlage them if you want to see them in more detail)
After I cut the images around I placed them with foam tape. And to finish them all I used a piece of fiber for the bumble bee ones and ribbon for the bunny ones (both from my stash). And that´s all! very simple and cute!

Be thankful...

Thanksgiving is a wonderful time of the year, where you can sit with a cup of nice tea or fragrant coffee, have a quiet time and think about the things you are thankful...
At Glitterbabe´s Challenge we are challenging you this week to make a Thanksgiving creation and this one is my inspirational card for you.
I´m using Indian princess Pattieboop from Patti´s creations. I colored the image with colored pencils, cut around carefully and glittered some parts of her clothes, it looks so very cute in real life!
I´m a strong believer your inner feelings and thoughts reflect in your creations, and while making this card I thought of the things I´m thankful that show in my creation. I´m very thankful for my sweet little lady, she is an amazing person caring, intelligent, funny, sweet... and so girly! and... a little tomboy at the same time... don´t you see a bit of both on Pattieboop? I´m thankful to my mom who taught me to craft and stitching was my favorite technique while I was a child and still lived with her. I´m thankful to my sweetheart who is always supporting me and takes my hand on my ups and downs so I don´t get lost... and who was thinking of me when he saved the cardstock from the trash and come back home one day with the trunk of our car full of paper! I´m thankful for the generosity of people who gives they work for free so I could complete my card with Elisa´s image. And (last but not least) I´m thankful because I have a job who pays for the rest of the supplies I used! ☺ (even though I have to work 10 hs a day...)

My creation fits the following challenges:

Cupcake crafts challenge #115: Thank you with autumn colors
My grafico Challenge #73: autumn colors

Digital scrapbooking

It was ages since I made my last digital scrapbook page... and after I finish this one I told myself it would be nice if I could finish a page a week, nothing fancy just a simple keepsake... let´s see if I can do it.
My first papercraft was a too simple scrapbook page, I remember being so happy with the result! but to tell you the truth it was just the picture placed on a patterned paper and a word spelled with stickers... if I get the enough amount of courage I´ll show it someday. A few weeks ago I found (again) my scrapbook and it reminded me why I like digital scrapbooking better, you can fix your mistakes very easily! I spent a relaxed time making them and they look great just the same.
Here I´m using a layered template (that makes things very very easy for completely beginners like me) from  Katie Pertiet that I changed slightly. Papers are part of Sweet pea kit from Pure Creativity Designs (I found it at Digital Scrap Cafe). A picture of me and my little lady and a nice day to remember complete the page. Hope you like it!

{Attitude!} blog award

I got this great award from my blog land friend and amazing crafter Marilyn, thank you so much for thinking of me!!! please, pay a visit to her blog, you won´t be disappointed!
In order to claim my prize I have to say three things about my creative self:
1) I usually hand make everything, where I live is hard to find craft supplies so I have to create with whatever I have at hand. I love that! that´s why I don´t complain, it keeps my creativity in shape ☺ (and my bank account alive!)
2) I color manly with colored pencils, nowadays markers are the most popular coloring media, we are not so many who still color in the old ways, but I also like to color with simple things like crayons (a technique I was introduced by Dorcas).
3) I like to recycle. I recycle whatever I find and use them on my crafts and cards, to me they have a hidden potential that I just need to reveal (my fiance doesn´t agree completely with me in that aspect, but he lets me create without complains and always encourages me to do it!).

Also, I have to nominate 5 blogs (hard decision...):
Dorcas
Catherine
Kathie
Lee
Cheryl
you ladies are my source of inspiration, I´m so very glad you let me follow your creative journey I learn so much from you, thank you! Please go to Digi´s with attitude to find out more about this award!

Autum Mermaid...

I´m changing things around my house and I have this mirror that was screaming to be decorated before going to the wall. I used Just Breathe from Michelle Perkett, this is mermaid my second favorite image from Michelle, it´s so beautiful, I love coloring this image, whatever you do to it you´ll never go wrong.
The mermaid is colored with colored pencils in autumn colors: yellow, orange, red and green. Took four felt leaves and glued them on the mermaid instead of the flowers it original has, added two seashells and sparkled them with some orange chunk glitter. I cut the image carefully around, not an easy task I must add... there are some curls missing... can you find them?! After it was all cut I placed it on the mirror with double sided tape. And that´s it! pretty simple but stunning effect, there was no way for me to take a decent picture on mirrors...sorry about that, but believe me it´s looking great!

There is several challenge that my project fits:
