It looks like Christmas!

Hello my dear blogger friends! Hello my dear and forgotten blog! actually is not I forgot my blog (or you my friends), just I could not find the time to post everything I´ve been crafting and leave you some love on your blogs...
Christmas is almost here!! where did the whole year go??? I love Christmas season, so many sweet childhood memories... besides making some cards I´ve been doing some crafts too!
Here I am to show you a Christmas bunting I made a few days ago
let me tell you I LOVE how it turned out, my pictures are not good (sorry about that!), but believe me it looks better IRL.
I took some pages from an old book and printed the images (all from The Graphics Fairy) directly on the pages, cut them in a flag-like shape and added a few sparkling details: sequins, glass seed beads, glitter glue; colored some parts of the images with colored pencils and used a knotted string to hung it.
It was so easy and fun to make I´m thinking to do more of them to decorate my place all year round! here you have a few more pictures:

On my cooking side I´ve been trying a few baking recipes I had spotted here and there. In particular I made these super-wonderful chocolate cookies (you can find the recipe here) and some beer breads (using this recipe). Hope you try them too! love the smell of my house when I find the time to bake, the cookies are wonderful and the bread is simply amazing!

Next week I´ll take a few day off, so I hope I can find the time to blog a bit more and to visit you too! Thank you for stopping by, have a wonderful day!

Giving thanks

We don´t celebrate Thanksgiving here but I want to take the spirit of this month by counting my blessings too. I saw a similar idea somewhere on the web and I thought I could made my own "giving thanks" paper garland. All images I´m using here are from The graphics fairy.

You simply have to open PS or a software of your liking, place the image and sentiment (it reads "I give thanks for..." in Spanish) on the left side of your page so you have enough room to write down your blessing on the right, print the page, cut the paper in strips, make a loop and staple it, then take another piece and repeat ☺
There you have your pretty garland! I think it would be fun playing with different papers to make a colorful one...
Thank you for stopping by, have a nice day!

need a {KISS}?

While completing my homework from the online card class I took during September, I finished this one I started months ago (don´t remember how many...).
I revamped it by adding and rearranging a few elements (all of them from my stash, yaaay!). I think this images is very cute, it´s from a map. I can not make myself throw pretty images away... ☺
Thank you for looking!

Birthday Wishes

Hello friends, I saw a couple of challenges and got my creativity gears in motion! this is the card I came up with
the other day I bought my first washi tape ☺ soooooo... and I had to use it, and this was a great opportunity to try a new product. I stamped the two birdcages directly on the card, the third on a scrap of paper that later I placed it with foam tape, and a flower I also cut and placed with foam tape.
I stitched the cages "to hang" them from the flower with brown embroidery floss, and added some bling in a form of rhinestones and a sequin.
Just a few elements I arranged according to this sketch

that I combined with the colors of this image

Hope you like it! Thank you for stopping by and have a great day!

Tarjeteria Solidaria - ♥ - {Cardmaking for a cause}

Second post today! just to show you all the beautiful cards we are making to sell so we can help others in need under Sueli´s guidance.

The first one:
La primera:
strips of patterned paper with their ends cut as flags, a beautiful stamp with a nice sentiment and you have a pretty card ☺

The second one:
esta es la segunda tarjeta
on this one Sueli had stamped the leaves with distress inks for us, I colored them a bit with watercolor pencils and let the brush tank to do the magic... love the vibrant colors! a piece of ribbon ruffled on a strip of double sided tape plus a button and here you have it!

The third card:
La tercera:
how cute is this one?! stamped the corner flourish with distress inks, added a few dots of glitter glue, cut out the umbrella and added a tag with the sentiment. I slanted the paper while placing it to the card for a different look.

And the last one:
Y la última tarjeta
a happy day card! with happy colors... I took the piece of patterned paper and cut one side with edge scissors, faux stitched around so the pattern could be shown, a piece of ribbon cut in half and a pair of buttons to embellish it! I really love this one!

Thank you again for stopping by! if you want to participate, either making cards with us or buying them, please contact Sueli and help us to help others ☺

Hello Friend

Hello my blogland friends, here I have this one layer card I wanted to share.

I ended with a very simple and pretty card, hope you like it too!

Travel the world...

Hello everyone! a few weeks ago I told you about an online card classes I was taking: Kick Start, remember? well, I´ve been doing my homework ☺ I´m taking my little steps at my very own peace but I´m loving this journey while learning about how my brain works the creative process.
So, this card is all about that: brainstorming about what to do with a magazine image, and with this color combo I found so interesting:

The image I´m talking about is the Tower of Pisa
I found it in my mailbox printed on an envelope and I cut it out (and save it for later as usual....) because.... I simply love it (as usual too...)! I embossed the cardstock, used some chalks to distress it, cut a strip of (old) patterned paper, stamped the sentiment, added a few pearls and rhinestones, and ended with a not-so-perfect-card, but a very happy me because it looks better than the one I sketched!

Thank you for stopping by, have a nice day!

Mamá

Hello again! now I want to share a card I made using a few things I found at my (ever growing) stash.
I wanted to try something new: cut stripes of patterned paper (here I used digital and wallpaper sampler) and made another out of them. A nice technique! Then I took some wood letters, paint them with a black marker and glittered them after, they look great in real life!
Finished it by gluing the letters to a scrap of embossed cardstock and embellished the card with rhinestones. The word spells MOM in Spanish ☺
Thank you for stopping by! have a nice day!

Tarjetería Solidaria - ♥ - {Cardmaking for a cause}

Hello my blogger friends, today I want to share some cards I made on my first day participating in a wonderful idea Sueli had: Cardmaking for a cause. Sueli´s idea was to make cards to sell them, all the money collected will be donated to charity for those who are struggling on these days here in Spain. In order to participate you only have to bring on one Kg (two pounds) of any non perishable food, and you are rewarded not only with a craft pack to make three cards but also with a beautiful time shared with wonderful people. If you are reading this, live near Madrid and are very interested in participate too just go to Sueli´s blog and be in contact with her ☺ and while you are there enjoy her wonderful creations!

Sueli had prepared for us to make these three cards:
Sueli tenia preparado todos los materiales para hacer estas tres tarjetas:

Here is my first one:
Esta es la primera tarjeta que hice:
a very simple one but with a few nice touches you end up with a pretty card! one piece of cardstock, another of patterned paper, a piece of ribbon, two buttons, a die cut (oval), inks and a few stamps. Loving this one!

The second one:
La segunda tarjeta:
I really loved this one! very easy to make too, it only needs: two pieces of ric-rac ribbon, a piece of patterned paper, a round corner tool, a black marker, stickles, ink and stamps.

Here you have a better look of the stamped "cake" and the glitery look the stickles gave to it

And the third and last one:
Y la tercera y última:
Here I used again some patterned paper (scraps from the first card too!) and the ric-rac ribbon to make presents instead of another cake.

I´m so happy to be part of this great idea, I went back to my home with a smile on my face knowing I´m doing something to help others, it´s a wonderful feeling! Can´t wait to this next Friday ☺

Thank you for stopping by, have a  nice day!

Cleanning up!

I was cleanning up my craft space and I found these items
and under a layer of stuff there were: 4 paper bags I embossed with a couple of embossing folders, digital images I pirnted out and colored some of them, a paper napking from IKEA, some paper from an advertisement I liked and saved it to make something with it.
an hour, and a few clear stamps and ink later, I ended up with this set of four (sorry about the pictures but it´s night already here...) I changed my mind a bit while making them and took a few items from my stash so they won´t look the same, but I like how they turned out!

here you have a close up of the embellishments for each of them. What do you think?
Have a wonderful day and thank you for stopping by! ☺

{i love you}

As school has started and most of you are back to rutine, I wanted to get back to some of my rutines too but I´m having a very hard time organizing myself to reach my goals (some of them here): keeping my house organized and clean; and crafting almost everyday.
So, for the first one I´m participating at a wonderful challenge set by Katrina, it´s amazing at how well organized this lady is! when I came across this challenge I felt a bit intimidated by it, but I know I´m a brave girl and finaly I singed up to the challenges, so far I´m not able to complete the task everyday (as I work full time) but I´m doing more than I thought I could do after work (horray for me!) and trying to finish the rest during weekends. I´ll posting my progress here ☺
For the second, I signed up to this (so far wonderful!) online class Kristina and Jennifer are teaching. Yesterday we had our first class and I was completely blown up by the quality of it, by the degree of detail involved, I know this class is going to be a turning point in my crafting life ☺ Then, after taking the lesson, and being inspired by the teachers, I did this card:

my stamping is not good yet, it has to be improved (a lot!!) but for now it´s ok... I wanted a masculine card (the most challenging for me), and I used all supplies I had in my stash. Here you have a front view

Thank you for stopping by!

¡Felices Fiestas!

Hello friends! Here I am showing you a Christmas card I made yesterday after the cleaning bash I had at home...
First I embossed it with this fun design, I chalked the trees that bulge with lilac chalk and glittered those depressed. I placed a strip of tissue paper on the bottom, hand wrote the sentiment and faux stitched bottom and top. Then I made the embellishment out of a piece of lace, a button, a sequin snowflake and a circle of white paper.
Put the embellishment in place and added three iridescent sequins (finished them with a tiny rhinestone), can you see how they sparkle? they look better in real life though...
Hope you Sunday is going great! thank you for stopping by ☺

Para Ti {For You}

And here is the third one!
How gorgeous is this image??!! it´s from Floppy Latte´s that I printed it on a scrap of pearled paper and colored with colored pencils.
I took a piece of paint chip sample paper, pierced and faux stitched with black gel pen. Cut the image around and placed it with foam tape. Then I handwrote the sentiment with white gel pen and added a handmade dew drops on top, they look better in real life, sorry about the picture! they were hard to take...
Have a wonderful day!
