Christmas tree tag (with tutorial)

Hello! today I wanted to show you how to make a 10 min tag from scratch! really, truly easy tag. Here we go:

First take a piece of patterned paper to make a tree, the idea is to make an isosceles triangle with only these elements: piece of paper, ruler, cutter and a pencil

from one corner cut a piece (no measuring!)

then do the same on the other side to have a sharp corner (do not measure!!)

Now you have tree pieces
ahora tenemos tres partes

It´s time to take the ruler and measure the shortest side (mine measures 2.5 in about 6.5 cm)

mark with a pencil on the opposite side the same measurement (2.5 in or 6.5 cm)
y pasamos esa misma medida al lado opuesto (6.5 cm)

take you cutter and cut from your mark to the bottom of the opposite side

and you end up with 4 pieces and your isosceles triangle in the middle

Then we make the tag: take a rectangle of white cardstock and cut two top corners

I decided to embellish it with a paper doily, glue it to the tag and cut the excess.
Stick a piece of washi tape on the bottom, and glue a tiny rectangle of paper to make the bark of the tree. Add also some foam tape to the back of the tree to give it some dimension.

Tie a piece of twine, place your tree and give the finishing touches with rhinestones and a star. Here you have it! easy, right? hope you can make it, and please share it ☺

Have a great day and thank you for stopping by!

Thanks!

Look how cute are these mini tags! they are very small: 1.5x3 in but cute nevertheless, right? ☺ I was felling like using my scraps of paper today so I started with cutting the tags in red cardstock with my cricut machine, took a scrap of light blue paper and embossed it, and placed them on the tags. Hand wrote Thanks! and glued some black sequins following this great sketch from Iwona.
The images are from Melissa Liban, they are part of a digital paper (you can find her cute images at Missy´s Etsy store) that I punched with a circular punch and layered them with a scalloped circle (cut with the cricut too). Then I placed them on the tags with foam tape. I finished the tags stappling a piece of ribbon.
Loving all these cute little robots! Quick, easy and fun! I think they could be great for thank you note cards (tags) for a boy birthday party.

a last minute tag

Second post today, woo hoo!! I enjoyed my crafty weekend a lot! you´ll see...
I bought my sweetheart a little Christmas present, here they don´t give presents on Christmas day but the 6th of January: The three Wise men Day, but because we do it on my country I always give him a little something. So I put his present on a lunch paper bag but it was too plain so I made this last minute tag with scraps of everything I found in the folder I have just for scraps...
the image is Whimsical cardinals from Designed to Delight colored with colored pencils following the same color scheme I used for the card I was going to give along with the present (you can see it here). The round calendar is from Sueli that I printed it out on another scrap of the same cardstok I used for the tag base. I placed the image and the calendar with foam tape and tied the tag with a piece of raffia to the bag.
