It´s your day!

I love this image and it was waiting to be colored some time now... This card took me no time at all to put it together!
I took scraps of paper and punched their borders, layer them and completed them with (also) a scrap of ribbon. Then I colored the image (Cupcake Roses from Designed to Delight) with colored pencil and added glitter glue on the flame and dimensional paint on the roses, cut it around and placed it with foam tape.
On the inside I used one of those great sentiments from TLcCreations and finished it with another tiny cupcake colored with colored pencils too. My first time coloring an entire image using just one pencil! but I like the result so far ☺ I might try to do the same again to the main image...

I {♥} U

It was ages since I didn´t use a digital image on my cards... I like how this one turned out, very easy to make too!
This weekend I was lacking of inspiration so I decided to make some flowers and embellishments while my mojo was getting back to me. I made this heart to try this yo-yo heart embellishment I saw a while ago here. I printed the letters on cardstock, cut them and glittered them with white chunk glitter.
I cut a strip of embossed vellum paper from my stash and glued it to the bottom part of the card (not sure if you can see it from the picture...), glued a scrap of red net and on top I ruffled a piece of white sheer ribbon from my stash too. Finally I hot glued the letter and heart.
Thanks for stopping!

More hangers!

I just love to make them! so every time I´m not into a card mood I just make one of these hanger and I feel completely happy afterwards ☺
This time I made two of them: they are made altering an old CD. I like to alter them because I don´t have to think of the shape, they are already a perfect circle! and they have plenty of room for you to play.
The image is Winter Bear I got from Designed to delight for free because I participated last week on their challenge blog, it´s a progressive challenge where you get in your inbox a free image to play with for the next challenge if you played on the previous one, it´s an all win challenge! isn´t it great?!?! I love the idea!
I colored the bears with colored pencils and blended them with mineral oil: I used two color schemes green-purple and green-orange (click on them to enlarge). I added dots of white puff paint on the falling snow (puffed after it dried) and glitter on the sliding snow, cut in a circle and they were ready to place with foam tape on the center of the front part. The front papers are cut from an old music book and painted with white acrylic paint because they were (too) yellow... then I glued some sequins with coordinating colors in a circle around the image.
On the back I used a napkin as patterned paper glued to a piece of cardstock. The sentiments are from TlcCreations cut in a circular shape too and placed on the centers with foam tape also.
I painted dots of white puff paint around the sentiments and glittered them before it dried (tap the excess and let it dry before puffing it), so you end up with a glittery puffy border...
And finally to hang then I used a piece of fishing line I decorated starting with a sequin snowflake and a few glass seed beads with coordinating colors, I finished it with a loop and another snowflake. When I finished them I found them kind of plain on the borders so I glued a piece of white fiber around, it was a good idea because I could hide the CD edge at the same time.
Hope you like this one and feel inspired to recycle your old CDs too!

Merry and bright

I´m trying my best not to be too behind my Christmas cards, not an easy task! but here I have another one to share with you.
These two stamps Hanging ornaments and Holly leaf are from Glitterbabe (you can find them at Stef´s store here!), I colored them with oil pastel and blended them with mineral oil. After I finished coloring the ornaments I painted completely with my so loved glittered nail polish and added details with gold glitter glue. On the holly leaf I glittered the border and painted the fruits with glitter nail polish. I really like the effect of the nail polish, it doesn´t saturate the image with glitter. I placed the images with foam tape, I drawn the ornaments strings  and the sentiment with gold gel pen. The black cardstock is perfect when you want to highlight the images. The simple sketch is from Clean & Simple sketch #115, love it!

Be thankful...

Thanksgiving is a wonderful time of the year, where you can sit with a cup of nice tea or fragrant coffee, have a quiet time and think about the things you are thankful...
At Glitterbabe´s Challenge we are challenging you this week to make a Thanksgiving creation and this one is my inspirational card for you.
I´m using Indian princess Pattieboop from Patti´s creations. I colored the image with colored pencils, cut around carefully and glittered some parts of her clothes, it looks so very cute in real life!
I´m a strong believer your inner feelings and thoughts reflect in your creations, and while making this card I thought of the things I´m thankful that show in my creation. I´m very thankful for my sweet little lady, she is an amazing person caring, intelligent, funny, sweet... and so girly! and... a little tomboy at the same time... don´t you see a bit of both on Pattieboop? I´m thankful to my mom who taught me to craft and stitching was my favorite technique while I was a child and still lived with her. I´m thankful to my sweetheart who is always supporting me and takes my hand on my ups and downs so I don´t get lost... and who was thinking of me when he saved the cardstock from the trash and come back home one day with the trunk of our car full of paper! I´m thankful for the generosity of people who gives they work for free so I could complete my card with Elisa´s image. And (last but not least) I´m thankful because I have a job who pays for the rest of the supplies I used! ☺ (even though I have to work 10 hs a day...)

My creation fits the following challenges:

Autum Mermaid...

I´m changing things around my house and I have this mirror that was screaming to be decorated before going to the wall. I used Just Breathe from Michelle Perkett, this is mermaid my second favorite image from Michelle, it´s so beautiful, I love coloring this image, whatever you do to it you´ll never go wrong.
The mermaid is colored with colored pencils in autumn colors: yellow, orange, red and green. Took four felt leaves and glued them on the mermaid instead of the flowers it original has, added two seashells and sparkled them with some orange chunk glitter. I cut the image carefully around, not an easy task I must add... there are some curls missing... can you find them?! After it was all cut I placed it on the mirror with double sided tape. And that´s it! pretty simple but stunning effect, there was no way for me to take a decent picture on mirrors...sorry about that, but believe me it´s looking great!

There is several challenge that my project fits:

Crafty Creations challenge #91: halloween or perhaps autumn

Free digi and Challenge at 2 Cute Rubber Stamps!

2 Cute Rubber Stamps is hosting a challenge!!!!
Heidi made this gorgeous image to use it on your project for free. You can grab the image here and participate on the 2 Cute Rubber Stamp DT blog to win a free rubber stamp! how cool is that?!
This is the inspirational creation I made for you.
I printed the image directly on the card, that was something I wanted to give it a try and this one was the perfect excuse! And also printed it on a scrap of patterned paper that I paper pieced the bottom and glued it to the card. I hand wrote the sentiment on a strip of white paper, cut it in a flag like shape, curled it a bit and attached it to the card with a button from my stash (knotted with a piece of red embroidery floss).
I colored the three cute pumpkins with colored pencils and added green rhinestones to gave them a bit of sparkling.
On the opposite corner of the sentiment I embellished the card with three felt leaves, a clear button that I glued a scrap of green paper on the bottom and tied it with embroidery floss also.
You´ll have until October 31st to upload your creation and a winner will be randomly chosen! lets get creative and good luck to all!
