a little box...

Hello on Thursday my friends! I made a cute little box, sooooo pretty! easy and quick to make, great size to decorate too ☺ Everything is from my stash! I love when I use all those beautiful little things I find.
Here is the front part
I used a sketch from Case this sketch #12, a felt butterfly, glitter, rhinestones... all thing shinny!
This is the back
the sketch I used here is from Less is more #104, very simple indeed! I added three rhinestones to add sparkle to this part too.
And this is from above, so you can see the ruffled lace I added to the sides
you can add a handle, but I liked it this way, I´m going to place two little bottles of these sample shower gel (or if you like you can add moisturizing instead).

I´m entering my little project at the following challenges:
Less is more challenge #104: sketch
Crafty Creations challenge #207: anything but a card

Thank you for stopping by, have a great day!

Angel in a jar

I love to make little things for my daughter, and I love to recycle things, so I put the two of them together and I made this cute angel in a jar.

The idea is very simple: you start with an empty marmalade jar, then pick an image you like to put inside and embellish your jar as much as you want!
I used a Michelle Perkett image that I colored with colored pencils and added some details to it: pearl paint on the stars and moons on her dress, glitter on her wings and cuffs, and a few white feathers on her wings too. I glued the angel inside the jar and fill it with some iridescent plastic shredded paper as clouds.
Then I painted the lid with gesso, and after it was dry I glued with mod podge a sentiment made with single words cut out from a magazine. I finished the lid glittering all its border.
And to finish this craft I painted tiny dots of glow in the dark paint on the otside of the jar, my idea was for them to look like tiny stars during the night, they can not be seen very well on the picture...
This is my inpirational creation for you this week at The Outlawz Twisted Thursday group, we have a very easy challenge for you: anything goes! hope you can join usin the fun

More hangers!

I just love to make them! so every time I´m not into a card mood I just make one of these hanger and I feel completely happy afterwards ☺
This time I made two of them: they are made altering an old CD. I like to alter them because I don´t have to think of the shape, they are already a perfect circle! and they have plenty of room for you to play.
The image is Winter Bear I got from Designed to delight for free because I participated last week on their challenge blog, it´s a progressive challenge where you get in your inbox a free image to play with for the next challenge if you played on the previous one, it´s an all win challenge! isn´t it great?!?! I love the idea!
I colored the bears with colored pencils and blended them with mineral oil: I used two color schemes green-purple and green-orange (click on them to enlarge). I added dots of white puff paint on the falling snow (puffed after it dried) and glitter on the sliding snow, cut in a circle and they were ready to place with foam tape on the center of the front part. The front papers are cut from an old music book and painted with white acrylic paint because they were (too) yellow... then I glued some sequins with coordinating colors in a circle around the image.
On the back I used a napkin as patterned paper glued to a piece of cardstock. The sentiments are from TlcCreations cut in a circular shape too and placed on the centers with foam tape also.
I painted dots of white puff paint around the sentiments and glittered them before it dried (tap the excess and let it dry before puffing it), so you end up with a glittery puffy border...
And finally to hang then I used a piece of fishing line I decorated starting with a sequin snowflake and a few glass seed beads with coordinating colors, I finished it with a loop and another snowflake. When I finished them I found them kind of plain on the borders so I glued a piece of white fiber around, it was a good idea because I could hide the CD edge at the same time.
Hope you like this one and feel inspired to recycle your old CDs too!

Autum Mermaid...

I´m changing things around my house and I have this mirror that was screaming to be decorated before going to the wall. I used Just Breathe from Michelle Perkett, this is mermaid my second favorite image from Michelle, it´s so beautiful, I love coloring this image, whatever you do to it you´ll never go wrong.
The mermaid is colored with colored pencils in autumn colors: yellow, orange, red and green. Took four felt leaves and glued them on the mermaid instead of the flowers it original has, added two seashells and sparkled them with some orange chunk glitter. I cut the image carefully around, not an easy task I must add... there are some curls missing... can you find them?! After it was all cut I placed it on the mirror with double sided tape. And that´s it! pretty simple but stunning effect, there was no way for me to take a decent picture on mirrors...sorry about that, but believe me it´s looking great!

There is several challenge that my project fits:

Crafty Creations challenge #91: halloween or perhaps autumn

Wherever you go

go with all your heart...
A very simple card, the ones I love most! I started with acetate that I cut and folded into a card. I took a piece of handmade patterned paper (made out of paper napkins following this technique) and matted it to a scrap of brown cardstock before attaching it to the inside of the card.
I colored this gorgeous butterfly from Softpencil with colored pencils, cut around it, curled its wings a bit to add dimension and placed it on the front of the card. I cut a few flowers from the patterned paper and adhered them also to the front. To make the sentiment I cut two strips of paper from an old book (I liked the yellowish color of the pages) one with half of the sentiment for the outside and the other one with the rest of it for the inside.
Hope you like this one because I love it!

Just for {U}

I made this envelope trying to follow ColourQ #44, I loved the combination of colors and I think I used them very well (I made use of my scraps of paper!). The sad part is that I couldn´t make it on time to participate on the challenge... maybe next time...
Over a strip of black cardstok I glued three scraps of paper, paper pierced them and stitched some clear glass seed beads with black embroidery floss. After that I trimmed the long edges with decorative scissors and placed it on the front of the envelope. The sentiment is hand written on the light blue paper.
The image if from Daisy May (Woopsi Daisy), a fairy I bought a few months ago, these images are so cute! and so beautiful to color. I used colored pencils and blended them a little bit with mineral oil and to finish it I painted her wings with pearled acrylic medium (and I also slightly brushed some of it over her dress). I cut the image and placed it on the envelope with foam tape.

It´s fun to be a kid!

Isn´t it? how I love to have ice creams as a child... lucky me I didn´t outgrown that!!
I used Double dip from Glitterbabe, it´s a freebie Stef gave us at her group on CDAC, and colored the cute little girl with colored pencils. Added some glitter on her dress and ice cream cone, and finished it with triangular rhinestones.
The patterned papers are from Jaime that I printed out on cardstock. I used these papers before, here, to make a boy´s card and I was very glad with the result when I used them to make a girl´s card. I took a piece of orange ribbon from my stash and I made two bows one after the other and added two rhinestones on their centers. The great sentiment is a freebie from TLcCreations by Paulette, and I glittered the word KID with multicolored glitter.

Spring!

How I wish it was true!!! yesterday we had some little snow and today everything was frozen.... spring looks so far away to me.... but we had a wonderful sunny day today! (maybe spring is not so far away)
Michelle Perkett Studio Challenge Blog challenged us to do something that contain:
3 Design Papers
3 Flowers
3 Buttons or brads
Use a springtime theme

And this is my first version of it. I wanted (really wanted) to use this image again, and also wanted (really wanted) to use these Summer Driggs digital papers again. So, this morning I happily started my card: I first colored the image with colored pencils and some eye shadow (I like how make up looks on paper not only on my eyes!!), and I even get out of my box a little bit and shadowed her hair with olive green pencil.
Then I turned on my cricut machine and cut some flowers, leaves and a swirl, each on a different patterned paper with the idea to check two points of the challenge in one motion. I crumpled three flowers and glued a button to each.
And finally put all together on the card. I like the result a lot, took several pictures of it to post them and when my sweetheart came back home I proudly showed it to him: TA DAAAAA!!!!
I told him the challenge I followed and he instantly (but sweetly) said it´s beautiful but doesn´t look springy at all...
and I looked at the card again and.... and.... it´s completely BROWN!!! not springy....
anyway because I like it a lot I´m submitting this card to participate at  Crafty Creation Challenge #58: create your own flowers.

Then I made another one
and this time looks lot more springy, right? Pinks... yellows.... greens.... yep... spring colors.... I colored the image (again) with colored pencils and eye shadow. I used three scraps of papers I had for a looong time and lukily they match pretty well.
And for the flowers I used some fabric dollar store ones I bought some time ago and stitched some buttons to them with green embroidery floss.
I hope this one counts to participate at the challenge!

I´ve been so absent from my crafty world and from my blogger friends these past days... sorry to you all! but I had a lot of work to do.... tomorrow I´m traveling to a scientific meeting in the UK for a few days. On one hand  it is exciting because I´m going to show part of my work and it´s very important for my career; but on the other hand I won´t be able to do any craft until next weekend... and I already feel the unbalance... I´ll see all next Friday, have a great week!

Two cards, three challenges

Dream on... dream until your dream comes true... (beautiful Aerosmith old song)
I love this image from Softpencil, it´s so sweet. I colored the image with chalks and colored pencils, added some gold glitter glue dots and clear dew drops
This card I made it to participate in Aly´s Sunday Challenge and Challenge #57 at Crafty Creations Challenge blog.

A cup of tea shared with mom is one of life´s little pleasures...
this image is from Shirley´s 2 girls and I colored with colored pencils and blended with vaseline. I stitched around the patterned papers with embroidery floss and some glass beads, and placed the image with dimensional tape.
I followed the sketch given at I Love Digi Challenge blog where the theme is to make a card for mum.
In both cards I used Summer Driggs digi papers that I printed out on cardstock.
