I wanted to recreate Goldilocks and the three little bears children story in a treasure box and I was inspired in this beautiful book
I decorated a dollar store wooden box with several little pieces and I´m more than pleased with the result, hope you like it too! Click on the images to enlarge if you want to.
Here is how I made it:
I started painting the outside of the box with acrylic paints, I sponged it all with pink, purple, flesh and white. On the inside I papier-machéed it with tissue paper before painting it with purple acrylic paint. I let dry the box and gave it a layer of transparent varnish.
On the outside I recreate the three little bears´s house with three digital images: Goldilocks from Michelle Perkett, New home from Pollycraft and the background is part of Chic Spring digital album from Catherine designs. I colored Goldilocks and the house with colored pencils and I added a bee I doodled myself.
On the inside of the box lid I tried to recreate the dinning room I saw on the book. The table is made out of three strips of foam-core white board that I painted with brown acrylic paints, once dry I glued them on the inside and starting filling it up: the Triple treat cupcakes are from Meljen, the cake is part of a digital set Birthday doodle from Angelica E. as is the tablecloth (cut it in a triangular shape and I decorated its border with a scrap of paper). I colored the cupcakes with colored pencils (one for mama bear, one for papa bear and one for baby bear!) and added a ladybug I doodled myself also. The cupcakes are attached to the box with foam tape for dimension.
And on the inside of the box I put baby bear standing on a gift box. The bear is Flower bear from Karen´s Doodles, colored with colored pencils, and the gift box is also part of the digital set Birthday doodle from Angelica E. The bear and the gift box are attached with foam tape for dimension too.
And I finished the box with a purple ribbon from my stash.
My daughter is the owner of this very nice book, full of wonderful stories and rhymes, and will be the owner of this treasure box (as part of her birthday presents), I hope she likes it as much as she likes these stories!
